BlackForce Mentorship

Guided by People Who've Been There

Every BlackForce mentor is a graduate of the programme. They have completed the same training, earned the same certifications, faced the same challenges, and built the careers you are working toward. They mentor because they know exactly what it takes.

COHORT members are assigned a buddy from day one — a peer who supports you through the entire process.

Formats

Four ways to be mentored.

Different situations call for different support. Choose the format that fits your needs, or use all four throughout your programme.

1-on-1 Mentorship

Personalised sessions with a dedicated mentor matched to your career goals, programme track, and professional background. Your mentor is a BlackForce graduate who has walked the exact same path — they understand the challenges because they have lived them.

How It Works

From enrolment to lifelong network.

Mentorship is not an add-on. It is woven into the BlackForce experience from your first week to long after graduation.

Step 01

Enrol in a Programme

Mentorship is included in all BlackForce programmes. When you join COHORT, Adults CPD, or UPA, mentorship is built into your learning journey from day one. COHORT members are immediately assigned a buddy.

Step 02

Get Matched

You are matched with a BlackForce graduate mentor based on your career goals, programme track, and background. Your mentor has been through the exact same process and knows exactly what it takes to succeed.

Step 03

Regular Sessions

Meet with your mentor regularly. 1-on-1 mentors meet bi-weekly; group sessions run weekly during active programme periods; buddies connect as often as needed. All sessions are structured with goals and accountability.

Step 04

Book Specialist Help

Need targeted guidance? Use Book-a-Mentor to find specialists for interview prep, technical challenges, career transitions, or industry-specific advice. Browse profiles and book at your convenience.

Step 05

Lifelong Network

Mentorship does not end when your programme does. Alumni retain access to the BlackForce mentorship network, community events, and Book-a-Mentor for ongoing career support. Many graduates become mentors themselves.

FAQ

Mentorship questions.

All BlackForce mentors are graduates of the programme who have been through the same process. They have completed BlackForce training, earned certifications, gone through internships, and secured roles at companies. They mentor because they understand the journey and want to give back.
Every COHORT member is assigned a buddy on enrolment. Your buddy is a recent BlackForce graduate or senior learner who supports you through the entire programme — answering questions, sharing study tips, holding you accountable, and providing the honest peer guidance that makes the difference.
Initial matching is based on your profile, goals, and programme track. However, you can use Book-a-Mentor to access any available mentor in the network for specific sessions. If your assigned mentor is not the right fit, we will work to rematch you.
1-on-1 sessions typically happen bi-weekly. Group mentorship sessions run weekly during active programme periods. Buddy mentors connect as often as works for both of you — many buddies check in daily. Book-a-Mentor sessions are on-demand.
Yes. BlackForce alumni retain access to the mentorship network, including Book-a-Mentor. Alumni are also encouraged to become mentors themselves, continuing the cycle that made their own success possible.
Yes. UPA students (ages 13–18) receive age-appropriate mentorship focused on university preparation, study skills, career exploration, and personal development. All UPA mentors are vetted and trained for working with young people.
